June 10: Maximizing Your Business Value: Prepare for the Next Big Opportunity

This event brought together a thoughtful group of local business leaders for conversations surrounding business growth and exit planning.

We covered five critical questions every business owner should be asking:
1. What is the state of my financial health?
2. What is my business worth?
3. Should I grow, sell, or hold?
4. How do I protect and maximize what I’ve built?
5. What comes after?

A big thank you to Brian Church and Dean Niewolny of OneAscent Financial for sharing their expertise, and to everyone who showed up with questions, insights, and a willingness to plan for the future. For further information please look at our blog post about the event linked here.

North Shore Chamber of Commerce Veterans Breakfast

Solomon Private Wealth was proud to be a sponsor again at the Annual North Shore Chamber of Commerce Veterans Breakfast this morning.  As a member of the North Shore Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors this is an amazing event to be part of each year. Again, Business and Community leaders came together to honor and recognize and thank all the region's veterans.  Major Sargent General Kevin Holland gave the keynote speaker and shared of his experiences in over 1700 combat assignments – the audience was emotionally moved to say the least!  We were blessed to have two WWII Veterans in attendance. I was also blessed to see old friends Pastor Bill and Mrs Miriam Boylan.  Bill served in the Army and served as Pastor of Byfield Parish Church for 50 years, where I attended in years past.  Also from Georgetown was Doug Dawes who served in the Army in the Vietnam war. The morning was an inspiration, and I am thankful to all the Veterans who have served to put freedom of us all above self.  THANK YOU, VETERANS, – we honor and celebrate you!

2024 Kingdom Advisors Redeeming Money Conference

I recently attended the Annual Kingdom Advisors Conference in Orlando FL with over 2,000 other financial professionals focused on Wealth and Investment Management and the support of these services. It was encouraging to be among so many in this profession dedicated to a “Values and Faith Based” approach to serving clients and doing business for “The Why”.  The sessions were intense and ran from 7am to 10pm, but were well worth the time and commitment to learning and hearing from key speakers and leaders in Wealth and Investment Management.  I look forward to bringing this to my clients serving them and their families for multiple generations using our focused Family Legacy Planning method.

2023 Chamber of Commerce Dinner & Award Ceremony

The North Shore Chamber of Commerce celebrated it's Annual Dinner and Distinguished Leaders Awards recently at the Danversport Yacht Club. I'm proud to be a past Chairman of the Board, and a current member of the Board of Directors for this important organization. The Chamber constantly supports regional businesses and the community at large. Congratulations to this year's award recipients David Morales, Bernadette Butterfield and David Eidle. Josh Kraft of the New England Patriots Foundation gave the key note and shared about "social justice warriors" who unite and advocate to do more for others. He shared some key terms describing those making a difference in the world, worth sharing here: "empathy with action is compassion - philanthropy drives democracy - compassion is the cornerstone of civilization"

I was also thankful to be joined by my friend Chet Harding, Development Director of Amirah, Inc. Another amazing organization helping women from trafficking and making a difference in our community.

2023 Chamber of Commerce Veteran's Breakfast

As a member of the North Shore Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors I was proud to attend and support the annual Veterans Breakfast this morning.  Business and Community leaders came together to honor and recognize and thank all the region's veterans.  Major General Gary Keefe gave the introduction and had all the veterans from the past wars and conflicts stand to be recognized.  We were blessed to have a WWII Veteran in attendance.  Command Sargeant Major (ret) Skip Solderholm was the keynote speaker who shared a story from one of their missions.  The room of over 400 was totally silent.  His message was one of encouragement for us ALL to have a common vision, to unite and not divide, to remove all negativity, to be team players and have a higher purpose than self.  I was also blessed to see an old friend Larry Coates – Larry served in the Vietnam War flying Bell AH-1 Cobra and Bell UH-1 Iroquois helicopters.

The morning was an inspiration, and I am thankful to all the Veterans who have served to put freedom of us all above self.  THANK YOU, VETERANS, – we honor and celebrate you!
